Adding a back-up camera system can be easy installed on any vehicle that has a headunit or monitor with an RCA video input, and the installation process is easy enough to be a weekend DIY project if you have the proper tools.

I learned a bit from the beginning but pointing at the car where the wiring goes then saying "it's done so let's test it" doesn't help at all. I know you can't show how to do it with all cars and all cameras but you could have shown how to do it with that car and that camera. It's frustrating. There's nobody out there that really explains exactly how this works. What exactly is the trigger wire? What's it attached to on each end? What's the best way to tap into the reverse lights? Which wires are needed for power on the front end? Wireless vs wired? How can you get that big video wire threaded thru to the front easily?

If you could do a video on any of that you'd help a lot of people, or at least one, me.

guys, your ”reverse" lead wire goes to the reverse wire on your harness. your car needs to tell the radio when it goes in to reverse. the camera trigger can be locally connected to the reverse light in the rear of the car or, tapped into the same trigger wire at the radio if you want to run it all back to the unit. again, reverse trigger on radio goes to reverse trigger on vehicle harness. metra or spectre should give you a pin out diagram for your vehicle when you buy one of their harnesses. hope this helps.

Do I need to use the reverse trigger? I want to have constant power to the camera controlled with a switch so can view the cam feed whenever I want and not just when going in reverse.

You didn't say what you hook the reverse trigger purple wire behind double din, to? Does it just hook up to a power source wire?

I am not getting anything from the camera to the screen of my aching-1550nex because I am not getting an option to set the camera on or off default

Does the reverse backwire have to be plugged in? Can't you just have power and ground going to radio and it's just always on when you turn the car on? Thanks

Reverse trigger what wire to put on. I got back cam install already . Went to setting and it work but when on any menu reverse the cam doesn't pop out. Habe to got to setting for it to work

I have the same radio that you are showing in this video is the wiring the same for any camera to this radio and is there a ay to bypass the camera so that the rear can be viewed as you drive
