UI desiger here. If you want to know how amateur and unfinished the UI really is, go to 10:35 and point your attention towards paragraphs describing policies. Some of them are left-aligned, some of them are center-aligned without any logic or reason. It's just one example, and there are more mistakes even on that same screen.

15:01 One of the primary reasons why I _ABSOLUTELY_ love the *Civilization* franchise is that you have the option to custom design these _incredibly long_ games -- a few civilizations, enormous maps, and slow progress - something that you can keep coming back to. Initially, the new graphics and combat had me hooked, so I was really looking forward to delving into Civ VII, but the simple revelation that there is so little customization single-handedly killed it for me.

The magic of old Civ is definitely gone, and it has been gone for a long time. I remember back in Civ 1 and 2, everything was so immersive. The interface was adorned with artwork, doing its best to look good despite the limited colour palette of the time. The music had personality. Progress was rewarded with your own personal palace and throne room, which you could expand to your own taste. Your people spoke to you through your advisors. It felt like holding the fate of a nation in your hands.

Good honest summary. I think like many people I looked at their day-one DLC, pricing, and changes and decided to pass until it's all bundled together, polished, and on sale.

This game doesn't feel like I'm playing and growing a civilization. I'm just along for a bumpy ride as the game transitions to things I didn't build toward. Feels so random.

Civilization Revolution needs a remaster and release on all platforms. I still play to this day with a friend on Xbox. Perfectly simple and balanced gameplay mechanics, insanely replayable.

I want to make an edit after playing 7, I haven’t finished a game yet but got a few hours in. I enjoy it so far and think they used some of the boring tedious parts from other games. The growth system for cities works well and streamlines the tedious builder systems. I’ll need to play it more but it’s pretty good a few hours in

This one will be a pass for me. The "everyone changes ages at the same time" kills the spirit for me. I loved it, like in Rise of nations, when you attacked with tanks but the enemy defends with muskets because of more economy build. Everything you mentioned just sounds lame
