India's wheat aid to 18 nations amid food crisis; 1.8 million tonnes exported since May ban

India has once again come to the rescue of countries battling the global food crisis. Despite May 13 ban on wheat export, New Delhi has exported 1.8 million tonnes of wheat to 18 countries. Sources have told Hindustan Times that India’s gesture came amid repeated requests from these countries. Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has had a huge impact on the food security in these nations. My grandmother once told me that, in the 1962 era India asked the US to supply wheat when there were crises in India for food, and they send us rotten wheat by saying this is what they have for India. Now the situation is changing and India supplying others to support their needs of food.
