This is not a short video! I go through the basics of what the UCG-Max is, the applications that can run on it and give you a run through of the basic steps that are needed to set up the Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Gateway Max

I then go on to show how to add a wireless access point, setup Unifi Protect and add a camera, I also cover things like speed tests, VLANs, basic security and firewalls along with failover.

The UniFi Cloud Gateway Max is a powerful and compact multi-WAN UniFi Cloud Gateway with a full suite of advanced routing and security features, along with the ability to run Unifi Network, Protect, Access, Identity, Talk and More

Great video. I am going to be purchasing the Dream Machine SE. Will I still need a gateway or is the Dream Machine able to act as a gateway?

Question... Is it compatible with other non-unifi AP'S? Im wanting to use it as a router for my existing Cisco AP's that are standalone and Microtek switch.

Bit of a beginner here.
I have a 1 gig FTTP connection with Vodafone in the UK.
I want to move to unify eco-system and am trying to understand how this works and what I need. I am looking to future-proof my home.

So, If I get this unit, do I directly connect it to ONT/Fiber inlet to get internet working?
Would I then need PoE switch(whats recommended here) and a few AP's to get good solid wifi at home?
Do I need anything else?

I have a user/pwd from my ISP to connect to the internet(I am assuming this is called ppoe), do I request them for an IP address?

Thanks

I’ve got a little problem with my new Unifi UXG-Max
I'm on a 2000/2000 Hyperfibre connection. When I connect with the PPPoE settings that I’m supposed to use, the WAN port changes to GbE and I only get 1 GB of speed, even if I set the port manually to 2.5 the Uplink stays on GbE and no Parent Device
When I change the connection to Auto DHCPv4 the WAN port changes to 2.5GbE and picks up the parent device as Mediatribe, but of course this doesn’t work as it should be a PPPoE connection
Any idea what the problem could be
