WINGED HUSSAR (Poles) vs EVERY UNIQUE UNIT (Total Resources) | AoE II: Definitive Edition

preview_player
Показать описание
The Winged Hussar is a unit of the Poles and Lithuanians in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Dawn of the Dukes. It is an upgrade to Light Cavalry which works as a better but more expensive Hussar upgrade (+100 food and +200 gold).

In the total resources series, we consider 100 Food = 100 Wood = 100 Gold. In the equal resources series, we consider 100 Food = 100 Wood = 17 Gold.

thanks great job!
The +1 meele armor really does wonders for those Wingy Boys vs Infantry (if they are not TK lol) even without plate barding

The balanced thing here is Polish Winged Hussars die fast to ranged units while ranged units die fast to Polish Winged Hussars. Otherwise, Polish Winged Hussars are superior in melee battle by trading much more efficient costs.

How about one with regular, generic hussars now, for comparison? And if possible, maybe a stronger hussar too, such as Tatars one.
Also, thanks for the service, it saves us a lot of work with testing this kinda stuff.

My biggest issue is that Winged Hussars are supposed to be Heavy Cavalry and not like trash units like this. My takeaway is to either have them replace the Knight entirely (with completely new stats to make them suit the heavy cav role) or have them as Castle units

Would be nice to list the total cost of all the upgrades needed for each unit used here.

to be honest, the Winged Hussars aren't that impressive compared to generic hussars w/bloodlines:

Generic Hussars w/bloodlines have 95 hp, 7+4 attack, 0+3 melee armor and 2+4 ranged armor
polish Winged Hussars have 100 hp, 9+4 attack, 1+2 melee armor (same whatsoever) and 2+2 ranged armor

and the Winged Hussar's upgrade is much more expensive than the Hussar one, neither to mention the Imperial upgrade that gives the trample damage (circumstancial use, still doesn't make to worth as is an expensive upgrade)

Looks like heavy cav, Teutonic knights, and anti cav units are the counter.

What happen if you made boyard elite vs the crusader knights?

I hate Microsoft’s decision for making them so weak. Its not history accurate. Winged hussar were diffrent formation than hussars. They should be separate and gold cost unit with better stats and bonus vs archer or gunpowder. This civ bonus is pathetic btw 😂👎🏻 Couldn’t they make them more shock cavalary? Ahhh and yea if it’s winged hussar why the regular one still has the wings as well?🙉 in my opinion giving them base 120 hp 13 base attack, 1/2 base armor, same speed as hussar line and 60 food and 35-45 gold cost seems balanced. It’s ok they would still have regular hussar with missing final armor but the image of winged hussar wouldn’t be ashamed. They were not meat shield… .
