What does a man swallowing swords and taking off his shirt and going up a pole have to do with church? This nonsense should never be in the church! The pastor that allowed this to go on should be ashamed of himself and apologize to his congregation!

Mark was 100% right for calling out this shameful act and saying something is wrong in John’s church.

I think John had his ego wrecked by the call out. This was Johns attempt to publicly do the same to Mark. John has all the red flags 🚩 of a narcissist and manipulator to me personally in the way he is handling the situation.

I showed my 18 year old son the opening performance/ act without sound- he said why are you showing me a male stripper perform in front of other men? I then told him that it was the opening of a Christian men’s conference. He couldn’t believe it. I had to actually prove it was a men’s Christian conference- he was shocked and said why would they do that as it seemed evil to him. - I would not show it to our 14-year-old our 16-year-old. I do not follow either of these Pastors and have nothing for or against either of them. All I am saying is that someone totally devoid of any of the politics - our 18 year-old observed it and thought it was evil and challenged me to prove that it was actually a Christian men’s conference when I told him what it was.

This John guy.... Calls out Mark for him publicly rebuking the Jezebel spirit; but then rebukes him publicly himself. That is a perfect example of hypocrisy. Shame on this behaviour

If Alex, the performer, is truly a Christian, then someone might want to tell him that there are things he needs to fix to not look like his former occupation.

Lindell’s response confirmed the presence of a Jezebel spirit. Matthew 18 is about when a brother sins against you personally. A man stripping his shirt off actually is a sin against the entire congregation who saw him and thus addressing Lindell only would not have met the criteria for Matthew 18 to apply. The performer sinned against all the attendees, but Lindell knew he was on the itinerary. The shepherd (Lindell) failed to protect the flock in his care from one of the most common ways the enemy tries to attack men.

Watching the video of Lindell, I saw a narcissist taking on the praise of man rather than a pastor gently and accurately curating the Word of God. He defended himself. He defended his family. He defended his choices. Not once did he show the humility required of a true pastor to look into the issue that began this firestorm. This seductive, Buddha worshipping man (though talented) had no place in a worship sphere. Driscoll did not call out Lindell, he called out the act. Lindell got his pride hurt. Lindell responded accordingly. In a very ungodly manner. Like a narcissist. He was not loving Mark. He was not loving his congregation. He was loving himself.

Going public with those private texts, calls, and messages is evident enough of a lack of wisdom. It’s so sad to see that church, and now the broader church thanks to the internet, sucked into divisiveness. It’s better to walk away from all of this than to be absorbed by it and assist in stirring the pot. The pole performer was wrong. And this public display was wrong. God help our love not to grow cold as lawlessness abounds.
