Finally wrapped up the repair of the Viking II. This ones a really nice. Has not been exposed to a smoker. Factory built. Controls are still nice & tight, smooth operation. Tuning is a breeze, full power out! Normally when these come in, they are quite dirty, lots of mods, very time consuming to straighten out. My goal is to return them to stock condition. Install fresh filter caps, clean & lube. I did invest quite a few hours into this restoration. Added push to talk and updated a few areas. When you take one of these on, the best approach is, take your time, inspect carefully. Theres always surprises waiting to be discovered. Johnson's are my favorite Ham transmitters to work on. I hope you enjoy this series.

This Viking II was really a victim of an unprofessional hack job. Your repair work done on it has been exemplary Terry.

Another very nice job, and interesting vid - thanks! Where do you source those flat, earthed power cords from? I can't find them anywhere and they look great for restorations if you want to upgrade from unpolarized to earthed.

Great work as usual Terry...why did they use a crystal socket for the 110 VAC PTT line on the rear panel? I guess to keep it vintage you'd do that but doesn't sound very safe. Or did I misunderstand? 73 - Dino KLØS
