I think people who said that are condescending people. They hear South East Asia & they asume all countries in it are developing countries with all goods & services being cheap. They obviously are ignorant & did not care to read about the country they are about to visit.

I was in Singapore for the first time last November and myself and my husband loved it, it’s definitely not boring, the people are really friendly and welcoming, lots of great sights to see, yes it’s expensive but like you said you can manage to do it more cheaply if you really go about it. We are already looking forward to going back. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

I love Singapore and been there four times. Yah it's expensive but going with the locals you will learn the cheaper places to eat.

I'm from the Philippines and have been to Singapore once, instantly one of the best places I've ever been. Yeah everything's more expensive but like...of course it is. Everything's so well-developed especially their immaculate transport network. The joy I felt riding their MRT was indescribable. Also it's worth noting, because transportation was so accessible and everything's kinda walkable, we ended up saving a lot. In my country you pretty much have to use Grab or Taxis to get around so in that case it was actually cheaper in Singapore.

Singapore was the first international country I ever visited and it was an unforgettable experience. The only expensive thing in Singapore were the hotels. The unexpected thing is, Singapore is a developed country, but ONLY the hotels were expensive. Food and transport was SO cheap.

Thanks for your video, as a Singaporean, I'm glad you pointed out certain perspectives I would not have otherwise seen. Singapore is a multiracial country, our common language is English, our national language is Malay and the majority of the population's race is Chinese. It's definitely not simple to comprehend for most who originated from countries that aren't multiracial and share a common language that is their mother tongue.

To live somewhere where we have to live in harmony with so many different cultures, religions, cultures and etiquettes, most places of Singapore are intentionally built more generic to accommodate all races and religions. Specific places like the ones you mentioned, pay tribute to particular races and religions, and everyone respects that.

It's kinda like, public spaces are built generic, with no obvious symbolism representing any particular race or religion, but when you're at Chinatown for example, you see symbols of oriental patterns even appearing at malls in that area.

It has become an unspoken understanding by Singaporeans, that we respect each other's differences, we embrace the diverse cultures present and understand at the core, we are all equal despite our differences. We are all equal, no matter our race, religion or mother tongue.

Thus most public places, like airports, government buildings, banks, malls, train stations seems "westernised" in a certain sense perceived by many foreigners. It's actually intentionally built more generic, as these public places belong to everyone, not one particular race or religion, and these public spaces are meant to be shared equally by everyone.

There are 2 groups don’t like visiting Singapore. 1 has never been, only believes hearsay. The other has visited but didn’t do their homework to travel deep instead of wide. I’ve been twice (7 days total) within 6 months and there are tons I didn’t have times to do. Will definitely come back more to explore.

I lived in Singapore for 3 months (work). I loved every single second of that place. I was very lucky to meet kind and fun friends during my small stay which I think is the key anywhere you go.

I've been to Singapore 4 times and I loved each and every visit. None of those 3 reasons have and effect on me whatsoever. Singapore may be small but it's far from boring, there's so many attractions and a good number of them you don't have to pay for. Of course it's also expensive because it's a very intriguing mix of traditional and modern, plus I'm from NYC so I'm used to places that are pretty pricey. I've been to Tokyo a couple of times to know the score. Singapore is kinda westernized but does have Asian customs and definitely law regulations. I feel a lot safer in Singapore than anywhere else in the West.

I am from Thailand and I went to Singapore last month. My friends said to me everything was dull and unexciting. People do not smile and things are expensive. Well, you have to take what people say with a grain of salt till you see it through your eyes. I love everything about Singapore and will definitely come back.

'Singapore doesn't have asian vibe' means that Singapore doesn't offer a rich cultural heritage and history, it doesn't have ancient architecture, people who wear ethnic/cultural outfits are rare, and overall it looks like a newly built city with rarely anything ancient, it looks like some city in USA. I'm not complaining here, just explaining a pov

To the young people who live in Singapore, it is boring because the land is small. They see the same thing over and over again. But to the people who are married with kids, Singapore is safe and education is good for their kids. But as the kids grow to young teens & teens, most of them will feel the pressure & too much stress from school is not good too. To the tourists, it is good for them to come to Singapore for a visit. So all in all, Singapore has good and bad side of it, and it gives a different experiences for all.

As an American who lived in Singapore for 4 years (and now Jakarta for about 20 years) those are pretty superficial complaints. While Singapore is ultra modern and efficient the people still have a lot of character and it’s multi- cultural (Chinese, Malay, Indian) and has great food … it’s also a fantastic place to start your career if you are moving to Asia… a lot of travel opportunities… but sure if you are looking for the Cambodia/ Phnom Penh vibe in the 1980’s or 1990’s then you might be disappointed…

I want to add as Singaporean that we actually do have a lot of nature related activities for those interested. Many of ours parks includes various habitats with easily accessible trails such as mangrove boardwalks (pasir ris mangrove boardwalks, ubin, nee soon ect), wetlands, beaches, freshwater habitats and salt water habitats Not to mention the various islands you can visit for a day trip. Many of these places are home to native wildlife with Thomsan nature park being a hot spot for snakes and frogs. Various mandai trails and reservoirs are home to rare species such as pangolins, deers, mouse deers, taipiers, crocs and more!

If you ever have a chance, come to singapore to take a break and experience our wildlife.

It is surely one of the best place to visit. It does have some kind of positive vibe that you don't feel everywhere else.
