The Two notes Torpedo C.A.B. M is an IR loader/ Two Notes speaker emulation loader that has a ton of features. The C.A.B. M has recently been updated to the C.A.B. M +. Its been updated to include a stunning clean preamp, audio enhancer, tuner, additional reverbs and noise gate to work seamlessly with the (updated) power amps, cab sims and the other amazing features you know and love about your Torpedo C.A.B. M - Two notes Audio Engineering have upgraded your pedal to the incredible Torpedo C.A.B. M+. In this video, I bring out the trusty Boss Katana to see how well it handles talking the Katanas line out in the CAB M then into my recording interface. The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

I just got a Cab M+ and I don’t even use my amp anymore. I just use my pedal board straight into the Cab M+ into my DI and home cabinet. It sounds even better than some of my amps.

Hi and happy 2021!
(MK1 100watt combo owner here) Not sure if you can provide this feedback to Boss or do you just help the guitar comunity on your own credit. I would like to have this in the next Katana update: an effect that works like Digitech The Drop, a setting within Boss Tone Studio that enables you to only record the dry signal first and then tweak your tone into the DAW using the Boss Tone Studio as a VST. I truly believe that is doable and would make a huge difference in versatility. At the moment I only use this amp for practice but direct recording is not the best aspect of it.

Just to verify you are plugging your guitar into the Katana as you normally would then taking a speaker cable from the line out on the back of the Katana directly into the instrument in on the Two Notes and then an XLR out of the Line Out into your Interface? Nothing connected to the Speaker Input on the Two Notes correct? When I do this the cabinets don’t change on my Katana. The only way I can get it to work is through the the Effects Loop Return. Think I’m missing something.

So I have a question. What does it mean that the Boss Katana has some speaker emulation built in already? If it's using the built in speaker, why would it have emulation software to sound like a speaker? The speaker emulation would seem best used for the record or line out, to make the recorded signal SEEM like it's coing out of a speaker. But if that's the case, don't you have to disable to emulation before using the C.A.B. M, or else you have stacking impulse responses? Doesn't make sense to me

Great Video as always! Two Nots gear is Awesome... I have the Torpedo Live for my bigger setup and absolutely love it! I'm considering this for my Katana but have a quick question before I make the plunge. There are only 3 options to modify the line out... (REC / Live / Blend). I do not see a way to turn off the "built in" speaker simulation. It obviously sounds great. However, my question is.... If I cant turn off the "built in" speaker simulation am I not putting CAB M speaker simulation ... on top of... Katana speaker simulation?

I am not sure I quite understand how you are doing this. When I plugged out of the line out of my MK I katana it automatically defaults to the built in speaker simulation however mine sounds normal, it does not sound like the old swarm of bees. The only way I have been able to use the amp was IRs is by coming out of the effects loop which unfortunately does not grant me access to my time based effects in which case I have used it in conjunction with pluggins. There is a fella that I saw that built in a speaker jack that would allow you to go out. I wonder if what you are demonstrating is a difference with the MK2. Anyway, what ever you are doing sounds awesome.

Sound great, but is it true that the preamp and power amp simulation are noisy?

I love the video's from the studio rat's, but I wish Paul would use more humbucker guitars in comparison video's. So we can hear what humbucker pickups sound like as well as single coils.

Nice video, just wondering if you think the cab m would work well with GT1000 Core or would the cab m not be necessary?

interesting video! I was wondering few days ago, if Katana speakers and GT1000(-core) share the same A.I.R.D. technology, as well as I have found they might share a similar preamp setting, how close would Katana+CAB M v.s. GT1000+CAB M sound like (at least for the clean, or cruch sound. not saying all the fx-function, and focusing on a recording situation, home using or any other circumstances going directly to PA/Mixer/interface).

It was a question, between Katana, Katana headphone, GT1000-core, which one I would go for to practice at home. At the end, I am waiting for my GT1000-core into my decent iK iloud Micro speaker, which suits my setting the best

Really interesting video, thank you. Do you have any thoughts about using the Cab M with the Katana 50? There’s no line out and using the headphones out you are stuck with the Katana speaker emulation which, to my ears, isn’t great. Any thoughts about how to improve the sound a bit in the Cab M? Many thanks.

Hey there, I have a Kat 100 112 MK2
How did you turn off the default cab sim on the line out ?

One vision to close the demo :) Forgive me for the ignorant question: is there any other use in the CABM+ than recording?

Thanks! Any recommendation on a cab that best emulates the Waza that’s right inside the Artist Mk I ?

Really appreciate your channel sir. <>< from Texas.

Hi and thanks for this intersting video. Cab has a mono output. How do you manage this mono signal to get a final stereo ?

So... basically every Katana user needs the Two Notes, yes?
