You could’ve actually Drilled holes. Put Bolts.
Then Add Fins for stability.
Anchor for not losing it.
Seal it of course. Cause then it wouldn’t Leak 30 Seconds in.
Add a Door/ Hatch. Not Hard.
Seal it with Wax. Fuck it. Or glue Old Tires around it.
It doesn’t need a lock. Just a bell.

Put a blanket in their. Pillow.
If it gets to hot? Put a Sheet Roof metal over it and kinda angle it like…. A roof. And then you have a Air gap, with a Extra layer of protection from the sun.

You could do that to the bottom too. Tying the ends off with Copper wire.
Now you have a Roof Shaped Semi-submerged Submarine.

This dude was actually brave for even trying it out and climbing inside it looks like instant death trap. Atleast add a way to be able to weight it down so it sinks all that air inside of course made it float or us huge center blocks tied to it with long ropes that will drag you and your under water
