This is definitely some basic precalc like the beginning of it, and knowing this is basically essential for evaluating definite integrals.

Because he mentioned "how quickly", partway through, I started to think....
We don't need to calculate the actual values for f(3) or f(2). and I think it's quicker to do this:
f(3) - f(2) = 3² -30 -(2² -20)
= 9 - 4 - 30 + 20
= 5 + 20 - 30
= -5
(I acknowledge that this method might require a person to be a little more aware of the +/- signs).
Also, factoring into: x(x-10) is kind of nice too.
3(-7) - 2(-8) = 16 - 21 = -5

Yeah.. sorry to burst your bubble. But precalculus is way more than simple algebra, you introduce limits and distance between points on a curved graph. You do very in depth notation and even begin to cover vector notation
