Terraria 1.4.4 added a Powerful NEW Boomerang! ep.2

I always loved the boomerangs, the closer you get the more often you hit, and with trimarang thats 3x over, and at a certain range you fire continuously.

I did a true meele master mode drunk playthrough, and yes - murasama can be obtained before killing skeletron. I had a golden chest right below the entrance, killed a dungeon slime, and got the murasama from it. This allowed me to beat skellington with the reworked night's edge, and it was truly a power trip.

You can get the Muramasa pre-boss, just have to be lucky with a key drop (or Dungeon Slime). Also, in the drunk seed your evil rotates every day. First whichever evil you selected in world gen, then the other. You can check the Dryad which evil is in the current day by the planter boxes she sells (or you can also just use EoC). Knowing this will be helpful for when you want to kill WoF or you want a specific evil mimic.

was playing terraria myself while watching, also in the underground snow.

first chest was an ice boomarang

update: i got 3 more, but no ice skates

coincidentally while watching this i was clearing out my whole underground tundra just to find the ice skates and couldn't stop finding the boomerangs lol

also you may have seen but the bananarang got hugely buffed, instead of being 1/30 to drop 1-4 of them they made it 1/10 to drop the item and they got rid of the stacking mechanic entirely so you just need to get a single 10% drop and you have the equivalent of getting the full stack of 10 from before, but better since it can now have modifiers. it's been incredibly good for me in my zenith seed melee playthrough; highly recommend it

The new Nights Edge is insanely good now, probably the best melee weapon against the destroyer in early hardmode

The dungeon generating under a tree like that is because you’re on a Drunk Seed, the tree also has different brown leaves.

i think its not worth grinding out, as there are better weapons for the time, but its rlly cool for if you just naturally get it

ever since 1.4.4 i've pretty much always gotten gladiator armor and used it until queen slime and used that until post plant where I get the class specific armor.

with the shadow and chlorophyte armor reworks, there's actually a reason not to use like 3 armor sets through the entire game lol

I went through the same thing when I was trying to find an ice boomerang, had to make a whole new world just to find it in the first chest I see

I'd strongly recommend checking out the blade of grass, it's very cool now.

I was playing around on a classic mode character to get a feel for the new melee items, and I feel your fain with the ice skates. I set up a farm for Vitamins, and got like 8 blindfolds before I got the vitamin to drop at near triple odds; 287 corruptors. The odds of not getting the drop by them are just over 5%.
Though one change they did make to Shadow chests that I found was super nifty was that the magnet was moved to the secondary item pool, and they reverted the change/bug that made it so that your world always generated with some shadow chest items not being included, so you no longer have to lava fish to get the items your world didn't generate with.

Best way to get the shroomerang is to attempt to build in the mushroom biome ;) The bats will swarm hehehehe (I swear they know when you are building!)

It's stressful seeing your inventory always full, and I notice you don't grab the chests after looting them usually (maybe just due to lack of space). If it were me I'd be getting more storage set up back at the base and returning more often to dump stuff off.
