I can only imagine how difficult balancing working from home as a mom is. Just want to say props to you Susan, you're doing an amazing job and everyone appreciates everything you do.

I'm not a mom. 😅 But I've been working from home for 3 years now. And man, the number one con is the lack of dressing up and getting dolled up daily (cos you don't have to). So this year I started dressing up more nicely and making sure I look presentable everyday even if no one's around. Like I wear dresses, jewelry, and sometimes light makeup. Cos it does something to you mentally when you're just in your rag-like home clothes everyday hahaha

But yes, biggest pro is not having to commute. Gosh I love it. Before I used to spend so much on my uber expenses ugh. I absolutely love not having to deal with pollution! 🤍

Thank you for your video. I have an 8 yr old that goes to school and a 2 month old baby that stays with me. I run a family business and I work anytime, because I am like the “boss.” My husband has stepped up more so that he can help in the business, so that has really alleviated stress. I am trying to learn my daughter and then work around her. It has been very difficult. I am constantly adjusting my schedule around her to see what works best. I found that waking up early, managing my time well and really taking advantage of getting work done during naps, has helped ton. I just need to balance work and family so that I don’t lose myself either.

I also work from home with my kids there, they are in school now thankfully but I did it for 8 years with kids home. Its NOT easy but worth it for sure :) Working at night and never getting a break is the hardest. I get it Susan!

Hi Susan, I also work from home. I am a semi permanent makeup artist and an aesthetician. I also have my own YouTube channel which I am really enjoying. I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old and somehow I manage to juggle it all. I do feel physically and emotionally exhausted a lot of the time though as they only go to nursery 2 afternoons a week. I don’t have any of my own family to help so I work weekends when my husband is at home from work. We rarely see each other as I am dedicated to my career and wanting to be successful for my family. I’m hoping if I put all the effort in now, it will eventually pay off ten fold and I will have that much wanted time with my husband. My kids however still get my undivided attention. I think you’re doing amazing and I love your content. Much love from England x

Thanks for sharing! Being a parent is always hard no matter if you are a stay at home parent, work from home, or full time work outside of the home parent. My suggestion would be to implement a “block schedule” system. The blocks would be roughly 3 hrs each. Then you can assign each block starting the moment you wake up. An example would be 6am-9am “morning family block” so this might consist of getting everyone ready in the morning, eating breakfast, school drop off, etc. 9am-12pm “morning work block” so this block is dedicated only to work related items like making calls, meetings, answering emails or other computer work, etc. You would schedule the rest of the day into 3 hour blocks until it’s your bedtime. You would tell your team what each block consists of, their timings, etc. Then they must stick to the guidelines of each block meaning they have to leave you alone during family block time and not expect you to do anything related to work...they have to act like you are not there. Same goes for work blocks no one is allowed to have you do anything family related at that time... they have to act like you are in an office and can’t be reached. This creates a work and family life separation that could help to make things a bit more sane. However, you must hold yourself accountable and not blur the lines of the blocks otherwise other people will too and it will fall apart. Your days and weeks can change the blocks as necessary but once the schedule for that day or week has been set...all involved need to stick to it. Plus, if your kids are in daycare or preschool it makes it easier to work from home since you can block that time out for work. Then when they are home it’s family time, etc. Hope it helps!🙂

Love this. I work remotely two days a week. Now, I’m expecting and I’ve hired a nanny already but I’m thinking about working from home more and this gave me some great things to think about.

So glad you shared this! With coronavirus going on, my college and job are forcing us to transition to working from home. Before I worked full time while my daughter was in daycare, and now I've been abruptly thrown into more of a stay at home mom lifestyle and I wasn't prepared for this at all. I now have to figure out how to manage working from home and how often she'll be at daycare vs at home and it's been very overwhelming. I know there are pros and cons to it but it is QUITE an adjustment, especially considering all the unnecessary mom guilt associated with stay at home moms. I'm sure I'm not the only mom in this same dilemma...

Great video, Susan. Can you also do a video about your overall experience of moving from 1 to 2 kids?

Thank you for creating this video. I typically work from home twice a month when my son has a half day at school. I would feel guilty about taking a while to couple a task for work or having to tell my son Mommy need 5 minutes. But, it's nice to know that I am not the only one. Thanks again.

I think I'd be too bored to work from home all the time. Maybe 2 days out of the week in office then 2 days work from home🤪🤪🤪🤪
