Why is it conjugated like "я прошу"? Shouldn't it be like "я проcу" or "я просшу"? Since you said you remove the whole -ить from the infinitive form and add the endings. Where did the c go and where did the ш come from since it's not marked as an ending? Maybe I just listened badly but I'm quite confused by it 😂

An exemption for and ending of "ать" is писать. Do not conjugate it to "писаю"🚫. The conjugations of "писать" are
я пишу
ты пишешь
мы пишем
вы пишите
он/она пишет
они пишут.

What about хотеть? It's "я хочу", not "я хотю"
