How To Prepare For A Podcast With A Big Guest 🤯

I’ve been blessed to have some huge names in football on podcast like Jared Goff, Kenny Pickett, Will Levis, and Jaycee Horn. Here’s a behind the scenes look at how I prep for these podcasts 👀

First is preparation — there is no replacement for it. I will usually watch old interviews my guest has done to see what they’ve said to other hosts to ensure I don’t ask the same questions everyone asks them. I’ll also do a deep dive on their football history dating back to high school recruiting.

When it comes time write my questions for the interview, I’m thinking of great topics and I actually think of the answers I want from the guests and then I back into the questions. These questions are just the guide for me — I don’t actually follow them line by line.

Finally, before the interview starts it’s all about having the guest feel comfortable and relating to them. I try to do this early on by getting them to laugh a little bit and open up.
