How to Prepare for a Hurricane

There is a lot of hurricane advice floating around that's dead wrong. One popular example is storing your valuables in the dishwasher for safekeeping. An expert says your items would still be destroyed in a flood. Instead, put important documents in a waterproof bag and keep them close to you. Real-estate guru and “Shark Tank” panelist Barbara Corcoran says to take pictures of everything in your house after a storm for insurance purposes.

Another thing: Backup chargers for phones! Buy multiple power banks and charge them BEFOREHAND so you can have your phone powered in case you need it. Also, a watertight pouch for your phone, like the ones for going to a beach or swimming, and ones for the powerbanks and cords.

I live on the coast of texas, I’ll be getting watertight boxes for my most important belongings and my devices.

Well as a virgin Islander that know how to survive a hurricane it's a good idea to use your cooler and you're washing machine to store your ice this is true and yes it's a good idea to fill your bathtub and have multiple buckets of water around the place and to keep a lot of canned goods and batteries around the place too🤔

Pro tip, park in a multi story garage ( not the exposed story) pretty much the only thing that can destroy your car is debris
