Enable Blocked Attachments in Microsoft Outlook

Показать описание
By default Microsoft Outlook will block file attachments it thinks may harm your computer. You may see a message in your email that says "Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments". Many times you will need to save these attachments regardless of any potential danger or if they are from someone you trust. There is a quick registry edit you can do to allow any kind of attachment you like to not be blocked by Outlook.

Here is the key you need to navigate to in the registry editor.

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Security

If you have a different version of Office, then you might have to change the 16.0 to your current version.

Create a new String Value called Level1Remove and make sure you have the capitol letters and no spaces.

Then you will need to double click on the new Level1Remote string value and type in the file extension for the file that is blocked in the Value data field.

Here is a writeup of the process on our website.

Its really worked. If you dont have Security file on your regedit path. Just create "New Key" called name "Security" in your Outlook regedit path and create "New String" and type add whatever file shortcut you can't download. (to add multiple file shortcuts for " ; " like .exe;.bat;.js;.py e.t.c)

It didn't work for me, at first, because I had added a space after my file extension. So Oultook is also rather pedantic about the string format. Removing the sapce got me going. Thanks for the awesome video!

I dont understand why through whole network they all tell you about registry but not junk mail settings. Apparently if you receive your mail with attachment blocked, some occured due to sender being blacklist. Just have to set them as safe recipient and it is resolve, and it worked for me.

It worked.

Outlook needs to restart after adding any new file extension.

It seems that Microsoft closed this loop hole. I have 15 years of python development and a cubic TON of email attachments that I cannot get to any more. If someone is able to figure out a way again I'd be eternally greatful!

I´m having trouble sending an specific excel file. The email appears in the sent folder, but the recipients never receive it in any folder (inbox/spam/junk mail). I´ve tried many things already, like changing the name of the file, compressing it into a zip file, moving the contents to a new file, updating excel, sending it to different recipients, sending it from a different email. The only thing that seems to work is when I send it from a gmail account to another gmail account. However, I really need to send it to an outlook account, so this doesn´t solve my issue. I´m not sure if the issue comes from that specific excel file since it´s the only I´m having trouble with, or if it´s an outlook issue. I would appreciate some guidance in this issue as I´m currently running out of ideas.

Thank you! Can we do the same with Windows 10 Mail? Have the same problem. Some attachments are inaccessible.
