Daniel: You still got those golden locks, eh?
Johnny: And you still got this baby face from 34 years ago.

Daniel is behaving like a good friend while Johnny thinks that he is loser because of Daniel.

How can there be so many Johnny fans and Daniel haters after watching this scene??

Daniel is such an unbelievably nice guy. Johnny and his mates bullied him, badly, during his childhood. Pushed him down a cliff. Beat him until he couldn't even stand. Yet he's forgiven and moved on so much that he greets him like an old friend, is genuinely happy to see him, pays him a great compliment ("this guy was the toughest guy in my school") and offers to repair his car for free (this is before he knows about his daughter's involvement). Sure he winds him up about his win, but that's what old friends do! And given he was bullied, why shouldn't he celebrate his win? That victory represented a lot more than a stupid trophy, to Daniel, he proved to himself and his bullies that they can no longer walk over him.

Whereas Johnny is the complete opposite. Rude, obnoxious, acting like he's meeting his worst enemy. Is this how bullies behave when they meet their childhood victims? I'm so confused. This is also completely out of sync with how the original movies ended. Johnny handed the trophy to Daniel, saying "you're alright Larusso". Miyagi then even saved Johnny from being choked by his sensei! And instead of being overridden with guilt upon seeing Daniel, indeed even seeking his forgiveness, he acts the opposite!

Nobody that has ever been bullied during school (including me), and understand the affect this has on lives, would reasonably support Johnny.

It’s funny how Daniel inadvertently gave him the idea to reopen the dojo 🤣

Larusso grabbing his jacket as he tries to leave is the quietest, most passive-aggressive play I've ever seen.

you can tell Daniel is just trying to be nice despite still having grudges against Johnny. like an adult. still, he's a kid inside and lets his temper take over.

Johnny still couldn't let go of the past of what happen 34 years ago.

Daniel showed maturity when he saw Johnny again after many years after KK1. Unfortunately Johnny displayed signs of suffering some form of depression, and also not able to let go of the past

I can relate to this. Seeing the guy you hated in school make it big while you're still a loser 😂

I feel like Johnny maybe would’ve warmed up to Daniel if he didn’t see Samantha in this scene

I think Daniel was trying to be the "bigger man" and be nice like Myagi would've said but couldn't help himself with some Humble bragging.

It's so good of daniel to fix car for free eventhough johnny bullied him in his high school.

Johnny is the only ex enemy Daniel doesn’t hate. He was happy to see him

If only Daniel knew the real truth regarding Johnny’s Pontiac Firebird, then yeah, Daniel does deserve fixing Johnny’s car for free.
