Battle of Kosovo ⚔️ (1389) - Speech of Serbian Prince Lazar (English subtitles)

Serbian Patriarch Danilo (Daniel) the Younger who was the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1390. do 1396. brings an account of the speech that Serbian Prince Lazar (Lazarus) Hrebeljanovic made to his army on the eve of the Battle of Kosovo on the 28th of June 1389, against the Ottoman Turks, led by Sultan Murat I. In the only battle in which an Ottoman sultan was killed, the Serbian Prince also died, as well as most of his army, having completed the task of stopping the Ottoman advance.

This is only a part of the speech that the Patriarch wrote down in the "Letter of the Saintly Prince Lazar" which he wrote with the aim of glorifying the Serbian ruler and warrior, whose body had not decomposed, so he was, for his heroic and pious deeds, canonised a saint and his relics were transferred from the the church of Sveti Spas (Holy Saviour) in Priština to his monastery Ravanica in 1391. Saint Lazar remains in the monastery he built to this day.
