Show this to anyone who asks why you train Krav Maga.

Krav Maga not a Martial Art and its not a combat sport like Boxing or MMA. Krav Maga is a form of self defense and physical training first developed by the Israeli Army in the 1940s, based on the use of reflexive responses to threatening situations.

Krav Maga is about lot more than just fighting. Many people think that self defence and street fighting are the same thing. They’re not. Krav Maga goes far deeper beyond simply no rules street fighting.

To all guys who are practicing Krav Maga: If someone pulls a knife against you, just run away. If its not possible, try to find something to defend yourself. Never try to disarm your oppenent when you got safer options!

I was certified in Krav Maga in 2002 then moved onto the Haganah fighting system.
But first trained Judo, Hapkido, muay thai in the Marine Corps and then Taekwondo to make a well rounded fighting system.
Like I tell my students, never be cocky or arrogant, there’s always someone better.
Only fight if I have no other alternatives.
Stay humble everyone! 😌

For everyone that says there's no pressure testing in training: In my gym, we were literally conditioned to attack other students as robustly as possible and not simply comply to the technique. If someone didn't actually attack, but gave in willingly, which sometimes happened, our coach would remind him to actually try to resist the technique.

First thing Krav taught me is how to run away effectively. It's really about survival and fighting as a last resort - but doing it properly. Most people I've met who are Krav Maga "veterans" have not had to use their skills at all outside of competition/grading ceremonies. The occasional person has stories about the odd bar fight (my instructor even had CCTV footage of him narrowly escaping 4 drunk guys to show that when dealing with drunk people, you can really use their state of mind to your advantage).

I learned pretty quickly that fighting is really really unpredictable, particularly when it comes to street fights. In my instructor's footage, one of the people threw their keys in his face and left him with a black eye; this is not something you can predict at all, and will totally alter the outcome of a street fight. The longer you spend in those situations, the exponentially more difficult it becomes to survive and get away without taking damage or having to deal with the very tricky criminal implications of defending yourself.

The one thing which will get you into trouble more than anything else is EGO. Arrogance has no place in a street fight; don't assume you're more skilled than they are, just focus on surviving. If all they want is your money/phone/car keys, give it to them and get out of that situation safely. Your belongings are not worth your life.

PSA:
This is a flashy "sales" video for a "McDojo" martial art.
- Krav Maga does not teach you to face and disengage another human in unarmed combat because it lacks sparring, "pressure testing" what you learned.
-The success rate of defending a knife attack safely even by the most well trained is roughly 5%.
-Aikido is not a martial art, it's a demonstration of one.
-Self defence is a legal term not a system of combat conduct.
- the vast majority of courses called "self defense" is nearly worthless.
- Want to just have fun? Train whatever is fun to you. Want to defend yourself? Learn a combat sport (boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, judo, ju-jutsu, wrestling...etc).

These are tips from a martial artist / combat sports practitioner who tried a lot of things for many years.

Any fighting style must be practiced over and over and over again until it becomes the way you think, not the techniques you use. Krav Maga seems the most adaptable to real life fighting situations.

0:54 Krav Maga is great when someone attacks you with a knife, and you have an automatic rifle in your hands...

but its always hilarious to see the 'knife attack' where you actually never have that situation of attacker who stabs from above or wide...unreal set up

You walk differently when you know how to handle yourself too.
Subconsciously, your body language reflects that sending the silent message,
"DON'T F w me!
Please and Thank You."

This type of technique takes a lot from different styles adapting the things that are more practical and the easiest including weapons.

well put together sales video, but there are so many easy to learn systems by alot of ex special forces instructors who don't show on video, but if you look harder enough you will find

Took it up in Riverside MO Global self defense about a year. Excellent instructor Eric Sively. Had to put on standby account kid in college and 90$ a month adds up annually.

I have always been an advocate that if you're going to defend yourself then Defend Yourself. In any situation where you're being attacked there are no referees who are going to pull the other guy off you. There are no rules, always assume your attacker is out to kill you and won't stop until he dose so, then will spit on your corpes and do a little dance while laughing afterwards. I'm not saying kill or be killed but make sure your attacker is no longer capable if attacking you for the foreseeable future. Even if it means breaking bones or crippling him.

I do not understand all the closed fists punching In Krav Maga, how are you going to operate your weapon system with injured hands?

The fact that they took techniques from traditional martial arts and developed them into a new and effective system is impressive.
