NEW $25,000 Home Buyer Grant (Downpayment Toward Equity Act of 2021)

If you are Black, Hispanic, Asian American, Native American, or a little mixture of them there are people sitting at a table in Congress wanting to give you $25,000 to buy your first home

If you are not socially and economically disadvantaged you get $20,000

And as long as you live in the property for five years you will not have to pay this money back

The name of this idea is called the Downpayment Toward Equity Act of 2021

There are three main requirements

You are first time home buyer, a first time home buyer is someone who has not owned a home in the past 3 years
You are a “first-generation home buyer” this means your parents never owned their home or lost their home to a foreclosure
Your income is at or below 120% of your area median income 180% if you live in a high-cost area

Im white. My grandfather bought me a house when i was 2. I was to take over it when i was 18. However my parents lost the house due to taxes. Would i still get the 20 thousand?
