I ruined an entire cooler full of freshly butchered chickens a few year ago here at our Farm / Homestead. I placed them all together in a cooler and their warm body temperature, in a cooler, spoiled the meat! Besides a big financial hit, it was devastating on us and our food supply...now we put everything we butcher into ice baths and have consistently tender and tasty meats!

Helped a friend butcher some chickens he cooked up a couple and they where so tuff i told him i would rather chew on my boot than chew on that chicken, He never but those chickens on ice .

I hope this is the solution because I didn't do this. I'm not raising cornish crosses. These are just wild neighborhood birds roosting in the trees.

I add salt on top of ice. Gets colder
