Thank you for sharing. I also do not use Palm oil in my recipes so instead I substitute it with shea butter and cocoa butter. If a recipe calls for 20% palm oil, I use15% shea and 5% cocoa butter to make up the 20%. Hope this helps whoever is averse to using palm oil.

She said she doesn't own suitable gloves for soap making but she DOES recommend them for soap making...For those who want to criticize and be negative, there you have it. She is telling you the best practices, great video!!

For us newbies, Make sure we wear a ventilation mask and gloves along with goggles and even an apron. Even open a window to vent out the house. Keep dogs and kids out of the working area…. This is a really great video. The recipe is her description for those constantly asking 💖

I don't know if I'll ever make soap, tbh, but I had to pop in and say that these instructions were top-notch. Clear, thorough, and easy to follow.

After looking through countless videos yours was the best. You showed us newbies how to mix the lye properly. Gave us safety precautions. Listed risks but assured us we would be fine. You made soap making sound doable and I thank you. And your website is spot on as well. Please continue to give us such enriching content. You have a new subscriber ❤️

I really enjoyed watching this!
A lot of the YouTube channels don't actually show step by step how to do just show how they do it with no instruction or ingredients.
Much appreciated.

So as a chemist I would recommend to, out of safety just buy a beaker to do this instead of glass, or labeling the glass. Making soap is a very easy reaction theoretically you are just making salts out of the oils. Great video! I love that you mentioned the properties of different oils

I like how you were very informative about safety concerns and hazards more than the actual process. ❤️

Great video! I haven't made soap in a bit but there was something about metal bowls and utensils that interact with lye, so I used glass bowls and wooden utensils to be on the safe side.

Katie, Well, today I watched my first soap making video, and it just happened to be yours. Well done, young lady. I learned a bunch, and you are just a delight to watch and listen to. I am now a subscriber too. This is something I have been interested in doing for some time as part of a men’s line. Shaving soap being high on that list. Thank you for being the Soap Scientist and Chemical Engineer that you are. You are also absolutely adorable. -Stephen
