MTB TIRE REVIEW - Vittoria Mazza

The Mazza is Vittoria's mixed terrain-focused enduro tire. It uses stepped center knobs with deep siping in the direction of rotation to maximize rolling speed and traction. The side knobs are staggered and utilize closed and open siping to increase cornering predictability.

Tested as part of Vital's Front Tire Roundup (link below), where we put eight front tires head-to-head and compared how they rode in dry, loose over hardpack, sandy, and rocky terrain. Another tire that our crew had never ridden prior to this test, the Mazza proved to be a love/hate tire.

I've run the 2.4" 29'er Enduro Casing 4C on my Slash for 2x Summers and a Winter - LOVED IT
Super keen to get hands on the new Mazza Race (1C) to try on the front for this wet winter aarrggghh.

i tried to like this tire, just that gap between center and side knobs doesnt work here in our "soil" (kitty litter and DG).
i dont think the mazza is any better than other overlooked tires, the kenda pinner and spec. butcher, for example
where i ride the hutchinson Griffus F and Kryptotal Fr are better choices.

Love the relatively low score of the Assegai. It is NOT the best tyre in MTB history, people!
