How to lock or protect VBA code in excel?

Sometimes you have to do some advance coding in your excel files. And you have to share most of those files to your colleagues or other people right?

This is where the problem comes in. There are some curious people who would like to sneak peak your code. Sometimes they would like to tweak it. Sometimes they will simply destroy the code without knowing. This is the hassle we face with a shared file.

No in this tutorial you will learn how to password protect your VBA code in excel so that no one touches your code without permission. Let’s get started.

Step 2: Click on the “Visual Basic”

Step 3: Click on “Tools”

Step 4: Click on “VBAProject Properties” and a new dialogue box will open.

Step 5: Click on “Protection”

Step 6: Now Check Mark “Lock Project for Viewing”

Step 7: Enter and confirm the password.

Step 8: Save the file in Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook which is .xlsm format.

Done. You have successfully password protect your Vba Code in excel.
