Yamaha RX-V671 AV Receiver Video Review

It offers some of the most important features we tend to look for, like a discrete powered Zone 2, and network features that let you stream music from the likes of Pandora, vTuner, Rhapsody, SiriusXM Internet Radio and Napster. It also lets you stream media from any DLNA-compatible source.

This reciever does NOT have preouts for a power amplifier. It has an "audio out" rca jack on the back but this does not conver to analog from digital over an hdmi input so its worthles unless all you want to power with your power amp is sources that also use rca jacks.

If you want good sound, get a Denon. Denon and Marantz are both owned by D&M Holdings, so their receivers are very similar. Although, Marantz amps have higher quality caps, transformers etc. so the sound quality is noticeably better than equivalent Denon. If you want functionality, reliability, and no pause in HDMI "handshake", and don't mind the overly processed lower end Yammie sound, get the 571..or the 573..or 673 now..whathifi (dot) com likes the latter ;)

I bypass my receiver because I use my Blu Ray Recorder to watch the news and I don’t want to watch the news in surround sound that is why I love the HDMI pass through

I'm planning on replacing my RX-V1900 with a RX-A3010 or a RX-A2010 new models will be soon be released so I'm looking for these to get discounted. I'm really looking forward to being able to use my iPad & iPhone as the controller. I have a Logitech Harmony Link right now, and while it does work, it is a bit clumsily and dosen't really do everything I would like it to do

Yamaha 571 or Denon 1912.. which is better sound/video.. networking features not needed.. upconversion a must..
