My only pleasant memory of our mechanic is him going to clear the ballast of all organic life with his heavy wrench after flora and mudraptors broke in.

Before they changed talents in that last big update the mechanic was a god in crisis management.

The old tinkering tree when fully specked into allowed you to by sheer force of will force a pump to work even without power, allowing for rapid drainage of flooded compartments as even the baby pumps could empty large rooms quickly.

That was a vital skill to have as the only member of repair staff on my sub as I was often the one trying to fix all the hull breaches.

I have mained mechanic since i started playing the game maybe a year or 2 ago, no regrets it's too fun and now I get to turn into the wrench Knight and send monsters back to hell where they belong in glorious melee
