A new study says a black hole might pass through our solar system every decade. But not the massive ones that swallow stars—this one is tiny, about the size of an atom, but with the mass of an asteroid!

This probably explains why my socks, gloves, tools, etc, keep disappearing.

Is it possible that planet 9 isn't a planet but a small black with the same mass of this mystery planet far far out, which is why we can't seem to find it.

This seems very unlikely. Its believed that primordial black holes had very short lifespans, what mechanisms would be keeping them around this long?

Imagine flying out of the solar system at near light speed... and hitting one of these things...

If we are talking about a tiny black hole with a mass of a small asteroid, I wonder why the reported variation in Mars orbit couldn't be due to the passage of a small asteroid instead of the one of a black hole with the same mass... the Occam's razor would suggest it was due to a small asteroid, not an exotic object like a tiny black hole, I guess...

I don’t think this is true, a black hole with that mass would evaporate via hawking radiation relatively quickly. A black hole with that mass could only be born during the earliest days of the universe. I don’t know the math, but I feel like it would’ve evaporated by now.

Just remember, the chances that this atom sized blackhole with the mass of an asteroid one day flies through your skull is low, but its never zero.

That makes no sense to me. Even if they'd be tiny like an atom, they still have a gravitational pull and would have sucked up all the hydrogen gas while in the first generation of stars. Also, they get attracted to things, so what would happen if they fall into the sun?
We don't know yet the critical mass where a tiny black hole becomes unable to exist, but theories say it would be around a thousand tons.

Few months ago I saw a video about Jupiter's gravitional pull towards Earth, Moon and Mars ( when they are in close proxy - it is very delicate. just like in this video and it has more sense than floating tiny black hole....and less scarry.

Hi, don't know if you remember me I haven't been here for a long time but I was here at the very start of your channel! Glad to see you've grown substantially.

That voice xD the melody is like a musical instrument playing the same melody over and over again

When black hole shreds due to Hawking radiations, it turned into many tiny black hole.

This is crazy. It would be a planet killer: if it would hit a planet then eventually the entire planet will join the black hole

Came here expecting science.

Didn't expect to explore with them 👀

I was just wondering this the other night. If the probability is in fact that high. Then there's most likely already a small black hole inside a planet in our solar system.

Bread is not meat. Imagine a spinning loaf of bread. There you go. Just as informative as this short.
