Trust your gut’s instinct!
Trent, there’s an external mountable “torpedo” electronic instrument system. A pretty awesome full back up.
If you can borrow or rent, a separate altimeter, airspeed, angle of attack, instrument, you can fully calibrate / verify your panel.

Thanks for all the insights! I think I will love this plane. In my experience heat issues are mostly caused by getting the hot air out, not cold air in. A rule of thumb is to have three times the surface of the intake as outtake.

Hey Trent, regarding your air speed indicator issue with the reading being way off at higher angles of attack. I experienced a similar problem with my 170. It turned out that there was a little bit of fluid in the static line. You can easily troubleshoot if you have an alternate static port. In the 170 the alternate static draws from under the panel, inside the cabin. There was an offset, but when selected, the crazy slow reading on climb out and the crazy fast reading on approach went away.

Looking good! It's interesting how the longer nose and different cowl gives it such a unique appearance. Even with the classic cub tail and wings it almost looks like a different aircraft. Congrats!
