I love how the very opening has that classic Hellraiser music, even if only for 2 seconds. This also looks much better than I was expecting. Definitely looks to be on par with the first 4 Hellraisers (as in, better than Part 5+)

I'm so happy they got a good director to do this film. Hellraiser is such a badass idea in general.. and the original is really good.

So I'm just happy they got someone like David Bruckner behind it. I have lots of faith. The Ritual and The Night House were both fantastic. And he directed two of the best segments in the anthology films Southbound and VHS.

Hoping they keep the idea from the first film that the Cenobites are... not "benevolent", but lacking in malice or ill intent as we understand it. "Angels to some. Demons to others."

That was part of what hooked me with the first film, the implication that whatever the Cenobites were, whatever the box was, wherever they came from - absolutely _none_ of it was in any way human. Lovecraftian, in the sense that they're as foreign to our lives and our world as black holes and supernovae, and often just as incompatible with our continued existence if we're exposed directly.

That aside, I like them following up on the idea that, as the term "Lament _Configuration"_ implies, there are other forms and ways in which the box can intersect our reality with the horrors beyond. If Lament is 'knowledge'... that might imply it's a request for apprenticeship, summoning the Cenobites to 'help' you learn the alien wisdom they possess. It'd explain why they were so enraged that Frank escaped them. By fleeing them, he showed that he had wasted their time and rejected their "generosity".

What then, might the Cenobites define as 'love', or 'life'?

Wow an actual GOOD remake. This is a rare gem and I am not even finished watching.
