Custom IKEA PAX Wardrobe Build!!! How To Get It For FREE (0% Finance Hack)

Building a custom IKEA PAX Wardrobe from start to finish, with a finance hack that meant it was completely FREE! by taking advantage of 0% Financing.

A couple of months ago we decided we needed to have more storage in our bedroom and after carefully weighing up our options we decided the best value for money option would be to go for IKEA PAX. We didn't want to pay more than we needed to, but also wanted to make use of our space in the most efficient way possible and with the PAX planner and variety of fittings they offer it is really easy to get exactly what works for you.

Using the PAX planner we took a bit of time trying to work out what would be best for us, and then finally ordered all of the items. The build only took a few hours, and we couldn't be happier with the finished result. But what makes it even better is that we managed to get the entire wardrobe system for FREE.

So the original order cost approximately £600, but we utilised IKEA's 0% financing service for 18 months. This meant we were £0 out of pocket to start with, and we get to gradually pay it off over 18 months without experiencing any interest.

In the high inflation environment we are living in, 0% really can be your friend if you use it sensibly. The reason for this is that prices are continuously going up on things we need to purchase, which means if you have savings their buying power is getting eaten away unless you are investing or earning an interest that keeps up with the rate of inflation. So utilising 0% finance means you get lock in the low prices today and you also don't have to part with a lot of cash.

We were in the position to pay for the wardrobes outright, but decided to use the 0% finance any way as it created an opportunity to earn interest on the cash in the meantime (whilst the financing is gradually being paid off). My opinion is that the best way to protect your money against inflation is to invest in bitcoin. So I decided to put the entire £600 that we saved into a stock (MSTR) that gives exposure to the price of bitcoin. In just 2 months this stock increased in value by over 100% and I doubled the money from £600 - £1,200. This means that overall these wardrobes cost us absolutely nothing!

Financing always carries some risk for example you can ruin your credit score and incur huge fees if you miss a payments. Also if you are investing the money elsewhere that investment could decrease in value, leaving you unable to pay off the debt, but if used in the right way it can be a game changer.
