December 19, 2003 I was sentenced to jail time for a probation violation that I'd not actually earned to begin with and it made me feel completely broken. On the 3rd day of self inflicted suffering in the county, I surrendered to God and for the next 40 days of my surrender, I realized that I'd become a new young man altogether praying with intention, being positive and effortlessly kind to others, having absolutely no thoughts of being home with my girlfriend and or having sex, and I even for the first time since I could remember, read my first novel novel ever! 🙏🏿 I'm a singer by profession and all the years prior to my being given an active 45 day sentence for a misdemeanor crime that I really had no way of preventing, I had been searching for opportunities to build my career to no avail and yet, it was while in the jail cell serving Jesus Christ and praying without asking for anything except His will on my life that I received news that once I'd gotten out I was on my way to sign a record and touring deal with a Grammy Award winning group as its newest lead singer! Now remember I said that I'd been given a 45 day sentence but, because GOD is specific in His actions, I only served 40 and was released 5 days early making it an exact 40 days I'd spent transitioning and serving The Lord with an open heart. I was just a young man but, I knew that something very special had happened between myself and The Holy Spirit and although I never even thought about the number of days until more recently, I knew that God had shown me what no one could ever bring into question which is, that when we surrender our way in exchange for His will and love, He will remove all limits off of our earthly lines of credit with Him and His Blessings and Mercy! In hindsight, what I now believe is that fasting in truth and letting go of the world is an express lane to experiencing The 3rd Heaven while being alive to be a witness and testament to it.

I admit, I did let go of that surrender once I'd gotten out on tour which ultimately caused me my peace and quality of life but, what I never lost was the experience of knowing for 100% certain that when we give up our way and flesh and allow GOD to live through our flesh, we come into our true purposes and limitless accesses of living in this world.

There is only one way, to rejoice in our sufferings: on our knees. After over 30 years of having tormenting chronic pain in both my ankles, neck, adjoining migraines, and horridly irritable urinary health issues, it is very clear to me that all I have left is to get on my knees in order to be thankful and rejoice in the face of these sufferings. I have been rebelling, harboring a horrid bitterness toward the Lord, and railing, and sinning for a means of distracting myself from pain for so long and I’m completely exhausted! I just need to get on my knees!
