I love John Searle's "Chinise Room". It is exactly what I have tried to explain to countless people. I had no knowledge of him until your video and will now look into his other ideas and reasoning. Thanks ! After we cover computer awareness, lets do plants. Did you know that dirt can 'sense' water ? It turns into

I think Searle makes a very compelling argument as to why machines cannot think. I do think however the best we can do when it comes to A.I. is create an A.I. that is a damn near perfect simulation of human knowledge in multiple domains. This fascinates me to no end, so I need to ponder more on this to articulate more of my thoughts on this....

it is stupid this "argument", because the brain is a composite of small chinese rooms called neurons....and nevertheless the thing works LOL

This shows a poor understanding of technology. Maybe philosophers should take some courses in other stuff than philosophy.
