As someone who's a scare actor, hearing that the actors could touch you immediately set off a red flag for me even before hearing all the awful stuff that happened in the haunt. No contact insures the safety of both the customers and the actors. I've heard so many tales from more seasoned scare actors at the haunt I work at about people who try to push the boundaries and it always ends in the cops getting involved or worse. Never go to haunts that allow contact!!

Dude gives serial killer vibes, I don’t trust him at all

It’s crazy how people fully think NDAs protect them when they’re doing ILLEGAL STUFF

From a 10 year haunt actor NEVER go to a haunted house with a waver they NEVER monitor what happens inside and people always get severely hurt with no compensation for their injuries!
My mother signed a waiver but was told she would have a security guard to make sure she doesn't get hurt due to her being disabled. She was never given a security guard and one of the actors THREW her down a hallway slipping a disk all the haunt said was if she didn't want to be touch she shouldn't have come in
Please save yourself injury and money NEVER GO TO CONTACT HAUNTED HOUSES!!

This is the best portrayal of the experience and the sick and twisted man behind it. Russ McKamey is an awful human being and I’m so glad that creators are bringing it to light. It’s so much more than a horror attraction

22:42 nope, the waivers and NDAs at the Manor are not legally binding. They can't be. It is illegal at a federal level to use NDA's to cover up abuse.
Literally everyone who signed one is free to disclose.

As someone who's been to Halloween Horror Nights twice in two years with my older sister- 2014 and 2015- I can definitely say that I have full respect for scare actors and for the creative team of the event AND those helping to keep safety in check. For this context, my older sister has a background in theater and had previously auditioned to be a scare actor herself (but didn't make the final cut). Also for this context is that I am on the autism spectrum.
When one scare involving a chainsaw turned out to be too much for me for my first year, there was no attempt for me to push my boundaries or even ignore them for entertainment. My older sister was taught this detail when she was auditioning: if a guest has their attention facing down to the ground, then that's a sign to not go after them. So when we left, she made sure that my eyes were facing the ground. Because of this detail, we didn't get ambushed when we headed to the exit. Second year, when we left, another scare actor with a chainsaw was ready to scare us. But my sister recounted that, the moment that I cowered into her, the actor immediately recognized that I wasn't up for being scared and backed off before we booked it to the exit.
Point is this: Russ McKamey honestly has no business in being in the haunt industry if he can't even recognize what lines shouldn't be crossed and why certain boundaries exist for a reason to ensure the well-being of guests. When even Blackout (which is an immersive extreme haunted house) is able to PROVIDE a safeword for guests if the experience gets too much for them, then McKamey should seriously fold while he can if he wants to save his skin.

The McKamey Manor is the only haunted house that actively puts chills down my spine just thinking about it.

I got so engrossed in the Reckless Ben series. I couldn't believe when he finally got the hard drive and posted the last video! GOOD JOB, friends!)

To Ben tweaking the contract to $1 and sending it back: This absolutely would stand up in court because Russ was not compelled to sign the document and the onus was on Russ to fully review paperwork before signing.

I work in publishing and believe me, it is FULLY upon the signatories to double check every inch of that contract before signing. If someone alters something in a contract, it's fully on me as the R&P professional to catch it before signing...because once that thing is signed it's like saying "I agree to everything here". If there's no paper/email trail of Russ objecting to the $1 tweak, he has no proof that he didn't agree to a change over the phone or some other medium.

As a former Haunt actor, I sincerely hope to see Russ McKamey dragged for making a mockery of the art.

as a torture victim myself this "haunted house" raised huge ass red flags when i read about it a while back because it just sounds like people are being straight-up tortured. russ mckamey is a sadistic monster.

When I found out about this “haunted house” I was always so shocked it could stay running. I’m so glad to see one of my favorite creators talking about it and bringing more exposure and awareness to it. Btw love the Santa hat TehMimi!

I watched the wendigoon video where he combed through the 40 page waiver...and there's some insane garbage in there.

Wasn't there a case where an actual hardened vet/marine, who's seen many horrors or went through one of the toughest training (can't remember which), actually finished the haunted house without blinking an eye and didn't get paid the money he was promised? Russ argued that the veteran broke some rules..etc..

I want to see a horror film based on something like this. A haunted house attraction that turns out to be a scam/front for real serial killers to torture people.

The merch that Reckless Ben has on his McKamey Manor website is pretty epic. The fact that he's calling out Russ while trolling him at the same time has been one of my favorite things to watch.

Overall, if Russ is actually a veteran then I think he's a sociopath. I have friends that are vets and have witnessed the stuff firsthand that Russ gleefully talks about and puts participants though. I don't know a single vet personally that would do that. So Russ is either a sociopath or a liar. Both?

as a scare actor, this dude does it for personal sexual reasons he can’t outwardly persue. it would be one thing if this was a big cash grab to profit on extreme shock factor but he makes NOTHING from the people who sign up to go through. it’s almost like soft core torture p*rn sometimes the way they all speak to the recipients of the haunt. when he kept it going after all the employees left he lost the main location and everyone stopped donating it was a for sure sign he gets personal mental gain from torturing these people for free

Russ McKamey is the Joe Exotic of the horror world.

I'll always remember the video from the manor of actors slicing an artery in a girl's foot with a rusty knife and freaking out as she was rapidly losing blood. The fact that they can hold real, dirty weapons to your skin is more than enough to say no.

I have a friend who absolutely insisted on going to this awful place and I only went as a support person and agreed to wait for them outside. Just as my friend was about to go in, Russ starts legit grilling me about how I'm skipping out in a chance of a lifetime because people would KILL to have something like this just offered to them.

Like, dude literally acted like he was a god and I could not contain myself from smirking and snickering. I told Russ I would go in too if he was willing to go in with us and put himself through everything we would be going through. This guy left so fast! I did talk to a pretty cool lady who worked there as I was waiting for my friend. She was actually one of the cast members for the attraction.

How did my friend turn out? Well, apparently he got thrown out after 2 hours for kicking Russ in the shin 😂😂 Friend tried to tell him no that he wasn't willing to go through something and Russ wouldn't back the fck off about it, so friend decided to kick him instead!
