Russ McKamey, the owner of the WORST "haunted house" has been arrested over the summer, and recently the charges were dropped. However, things are much more complicated than you'd expect.

I know Shay personally and watched their relationship play out on social media since they went public. They regularly went live on Facebook and the way he interacted with her always upset me. He was constantly cutting her off, talking over her, only addressing his “haters” during the lives. I unfortunately wasn’t surprised to hear about his arrest, but it was definitely a sigh of relief that she could get away from him. She’s safe and away from him now, thankfully.

12:45, even if they ARE intrusive thoughts, expressing said thoughts specifically about wanting to hurt your partner during an argument with them is just a threat. He wasn’t ‘sharing’ for the sake of being honest, he was just threatening them.

It sounds to me like the DA wants to hit this monster with charges that will stick, and he didn't think that he had a witness (Shay) who would be able to carry the case, so rather than take it to trial, traumatize her more than she was already traumatized, and then lose, he chose to withdraw and try to build something more substantial that he could use to lock the guy up for the rest of his life, like he should be. It's far from ideal, but if that's the DA's reasoning, then I understand it.

I can very well understand what Shay was going through. My husband always physically abused me. One day, he broke my femor, was a difficult surgery. Even 2 1/2 years later, I still can't walk properly and got a stiff knee.
*Everybody*, even the Emergency doctor advised me to take this to police. They all said it's a huge thing. I thought this myself - but I didn't involve law enforcement. Why? I didn't want my husband to be deported because of his traumatic past.
I really should have instead thought of my own past and future. I was so dumb...
