In my opinion it isn't at all dumb not paying down your student loan debt currently at 0% because you have CC debt currently charging you 25% interest. Get rid of those CC debts first and foremost.

student loans are still so mind blowingly shocking to me. I'm from finland, where we don't have fees for school or university. i did take a 20k student loan but the government actually pays me 4, 5k from that bc I'm graduating on time (kind of an incentive to get students to graduate on time and not get stuck at school at the verge of graduation when many are already working full time). it is common knowledge here that taking a student loan is a good thing, as its the cheapest loan you will get in your life. always been interested in these kind of finance videos but as we have a very different system its hard to sometimes relate to the everyday stuff, but also makes it more interesting to see how others do it.
we also don't have this credit score thing that seems to be important in the us, haha. good luck to you, you seem to have a good attitude for this project, rooting for you!

Just watched your video. A lot of people are in the same situation you guys are in. Just be assured that you can knock this debt out. You didn’t mention any of your monthly expenses but a few ideas for you to consider. First, plan on eliminating the lowest bill first then using that money start attacking your next lowest and so on till everything is gone but the mortgage. To help you to accomplish this you may want to cut expenses. 1. Limit eating out 2. Limit going to movies, concerts, etc. 3. Cut services such as Netflix, Hulu, etc. these can all be rescheduled when you get the debt gone. Lot’s of things to do to cut expenses you just have to get in the mindset of eliminating this debt. Hope this helps and good luck to you guys

You might look into David Ramsey’s Baby Steps…they are solid and help you quickly get out of debt, but major lifestyle changes for a couple years.

A mortgage under $100, 000, that’s fantastic. I live in Southern California, I can’t even imagine. Why would you sell?
