The characters in this game feel very human. I personally think it adds to the creepiness. The awkward silences, some of the lines like “I’m just here man” and in the last game “Why would you take my keys?” make the characters feel very life-like.

I suppose that’s because Thomas trapped their souls in the game and all that.

If you do literally everything in the game, you can reveal the story of this game. Okay, so, here’s the story in short.

Basically this guy named Thomas was working on this game. Soon after starting to work on it, his son and daughter went on a boat trip where they both fell off. His daughter could save herself, but the little boy couldn’t, and he was never to be seen again. The girl felt something holding her back, making it impossible for her to safe her brother, making her watch him sink into the deep blue. Thomas blamed his daughter for the death of his son, while his wife was trying to convince him that it wasn’t her fault. She soon threw him out of her house. Thomas asked his best friend Arthur to look after his family. It was around Christmas, when the Christmas tree in the house of the Eastwoods caught on fire due to it falling into the fireplace. His daughter could escape, but, forced by an entity, the same that perverted Isabella from saving her brother, his wife was forced to stay in the house, burning to death. Thomas, who wanted to apologize to his daughter for being such a jerk, drove to his home with a present. But soon would find Arthur in the ashes and remains of the house. Immediately, he blamed Arthur for the fire and chased him down with an axe, to brutally murder him in the nearby forest (possibly under the control of the entity). Thomas was soon consumed by the entity. Apparently, the souls of the deceased are trapped in the game.
