As much as you guys are blown away by her performance, I wonder how many of you know that this performance was done right after she did Saint Saen's Violin Concerto No.3... as part of the SAME CONCERT. Simply amazing! She's another Mistislav Rostopovich.

It should also be noted that she was appointed as professor of music when she was only 23, the youngest ever! She is truly a very special gift to humanity.

I can’t even begin to imagine how it must be to be so talented to be a virtuoso with one instrument, let alone two as is she. Really incredible.

Grieg was 25 when he composed this magnificent piece. When I was 25 - I was at a hopeless loss at what I wanted to do with my life.

I grew up in a house with an 1890's Steinway grand piano. My dad didn't play that often, because my mom thought it was "too loud". But whenever he did, this was the first piece he would always play, and he never had the sheet music in front of him. I'm pretty sure he was doing a shortened version of his favorite parts, but it was incredibly powerful. I remember crawling under the piano as a young tyke and feeling its power in my groin, akin to what I would later discover in loud, amplified rock music from bands like The Who, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. LOVE THIS!!

She exhibits an understanding of the piano that's absolutely remarkable for someone who is not a full-time pianist. The beauty and masterful touch of some of the runs and passages are only possible from the hands of an exceptional pianist.

Many parents insist a music student pick just one instrument. Thank you Julia for being a complete musician and proving genius needs no limitations. Beautiful, lyrical interpretation.

I can’t believe she’s so good at the piano as well as the violin!

I find her choice to showcase a second talent a courageous move. Being a clear "leader" in the field of violinist, she puts herself in a lion's den where competition is no less fierce. She proves herself as capable as a pianist, and thus makes herself a first (let me know if I am wrong on this) who could do two concertos for two different instruments in one night.

I’ve been brought to tears so many times watching this performance by a stunningly beautiful and talented Julia Fischer. She is not just a once in a lifetime talent, but a once in a history of mankind talent. Her rendition is so powerful it captivated me from the very first time I watched this, until the 100th time and beyond. I’ll take a few months off and then come back and watch this again and again. Knowing how unbelievably good she is on the violin is what makes this performance so emotional for me. Can’t use words to express what this video puts on display for the world to see!!
