i randomly stumbled upon this video and id like say i have worked with hevc a lot on my windows 11 pc and it works perfectly hevc videos open perfectly on windows media player and windows media player legacy so i dont... wait a second you are using windows movies and tv so thats why *tries movies and tv* but for me windows movies and tv also open hevc videos perfectly fine so uh yeah either its something about your pc or something about my pc.. but well uh this video was from 2 years ago
its probably my pc cuz i see coment as new as 18 hours ago saying things like "Thank you!"
edit:yeah my computer has a nvida geforce rtx 3060 which has hardware support (nvida nvenc) but if your computer doesnt have hardware support you have to follow this tutorial so another method to open hevc videos on windows 11 is to buy a pc with with a gpu with hardware support for hevc or replace the gpu in your computer with a gpu with hardware support for hevc
