How does the peak performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 compare to the peak performances of the Apple A15 Bionic and the Apple A16 Bionic? In this video I take a look at the single-core CPU scores, the multi-core CPU scores, and the 3DMark GPU scores.

GPU performance is massively impressive on the Adreno 740 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 👌

Gary, we need more detail on the modems, please. I think that the one thing that might make a difference and push me to upgrade my 8 Gen 1 is the X70 modem in Gen 2. I use two SIM cards and the the X70 is said to be "Dual Active". I use a near real time audio streaming application. When the X65 modem in my S22 checks the non priority carrier, the main carrier audio goes blank for a short interval, interrupting the stream. Since a data buffer is included in most streaming apps and fills this gap, most people won't experience this problem, but the latency of a short buffer isn't acceptable for the service I'm using. I suspect many game players have this concern as well.

It's sad that there is no speed test G anymore

I feel, techies aside, that we have reached peak performance in CPU and GPU and that race for more and more is now a bit superfluous. Hopefully, the ML and Ai will get equally significant upgrades as I feel these will become the drivers going forward, and they, of course, are also software-based.

The 3nm, as promised, will hopefully be geared for efficiency rather than brute force; using 30% less power to complete the same task as these "4nm" chips is a giant leap in battery life and thermals. To me, the A16 and SD8G2 are just filling the vacuum until the next-gen 3nm arrives, assuming they live up to the promises (TSMC have delays due to yield).

Thank you Gary.
I would like to see a comparison video, where you compare these processors with Dimensity 9200.

Fantastic comparison Gary 👍It is nice to see that QC has finally caught up with the last year's iPhone SoC. Best of luck next year...

Performance per watt :
Gpu : ( gfx manhattan es 3.1 1080p offscreen)
A16 : 195 fps @ 7.5 watt
8 gen 2 : 220 fps @ 7.5 watt
D9200 : 220 fps @ 10 watt

Cpu : geekbench
A16: 5450 @ 9.5 watt or 4500 @ 7 watt
8 gen 2 : 5250 @ 9.5 watt or 4500 @ 7.5 watt
Dimensity 9200: 4450 @ 7.8 watt

Can you please do a speed test of Snapdragon 8 gen 2 vs a15/16 Bionic, would really love to see how close the gap is now

This is like comparing Crosse & Blackwell baked beans to Heinz baked beans for your beans on toast today. Both will taste great, so take your personal pick.

I would like to see the Photography and video quality on the SD8G2.

I would like to see this Snapdragon CPU in laptops and tablets. It is great to see, that Apple gets some competition.

Is it better to fix window on arm or make an os based on Android for laptop?

the advancement in these chips is cool n all it's to the point where the average person can't really tell a difference in performance. I'm more interested in the modem and advancements in the connectivity speeds atp like with QCOM's x70 capabilities..

Well, in terms of CPU, it comes extremely close to the a16 and in GPU. Absolutely surpasses it while also being more efficient

I hope you do speedtest G to these chipsets

Can anyone here tell me if Samsung are going to be using their own foundry on their variant of the 8Gen2 chip in the S23 Ultra as I originally thought, or whether they will be sticking with TSMC's foundry on the phone as I have heard over the last week from good sources?.

I'm just curious, do these specs actually translate to anything noticeable? Or more importantly, useful? Yes, you got me, i have a p7pro. But I'm not blind, i know it can't compete in benchmarks. But it's so useful. It really is like you s personal assistant. I'd prefer if non Google fans give me their take.
