Two tips that really helped me: I scanned and then printed color copies of the cutting diagrams and cut them apart and clipped them onto my stacks of cut diamonds to help me keep them organized and easy to pull the right ones for each row. Also, I used the little sandpaper dots for quilting rulers on the back of the plastic diamond template so that it doesn’t slip as I cut the diamonds. Hopefully my ideas help others! I’m really enjoying the piecing process, just going at it slow and peacefully, it’s so beautiful!

That’s beautiful. Looks like a lot of planning and marking, but a masterpiece is worth all the efforts you must put into it. I have been quilting and sewing for 60 years, but still don’t own a quilt. I love to see people’s faces when they learn I have given them a quilt, the joy on their face makes it all worth while, but I’m sure this one won’t leave my sight. Great tutorial again (as usual)
Thank you for the tips too 🤗

I was wanting to paper piece this. After watching you, I think machine piecing is the only way to go. I'll hand quilt it and that will be authentic enough. I never would have been able to construct this without your video. Thanks Cindy!

Ive held off starting this but youve inspired me to get on it. Thanks for doing this.

Thank God y’all made this video! Please feel free to post more on this kit! Perhaps some suggestions on different custom quilting designs for finishing it. Holy Grail quilt project indeed, I cannot wait to receive it. 💜

Nearly a year after I started this adventure, my JA quilt is almost finished (just need to add the binding). A big thank you to Riley Blake for the video and template, plus the helpful comments in response to my questions last Feb. Can't say enough for the value of using light sizing to pre-treat quilting fabrics. Virtually eliminated fraying and stretching, plus made the fabrics easier to cut and sew. I now use it for all my quilting projects. My JA quilt was hand-quilted by a good friend (no problems with the use of sizing). She did detailed quilting on each of the flowers in the interior panel diamonds and outlined each of the small diamonds in the border. Simply stunning. A gift for my daughter. I'm going to use the same fabrics to make a quilt for myself.

Thank you for posting this. I bought the border panels and central panel plus fabric separately rather than in a kit so no instructions to show how the border joins. Much appreciated.

Great tips and tricks....I've been wavering about ordering a kit...as precise as one needs to be in each step I now feel more comfortable about tackling this beautiful quilt. Now---any ideas on how to quilt it?

Where can I get the matching teacups?? I see you have them in the background. That might be the only item in this treasure-trove-of-a-fabric- (etc) -line that I haven't been able to find for purchase.

Thank you for the tips (and community comments). I've watched this video twice now, and I'm sure I'll refresh again when I start my quilt. I purchased the quilt kit for my birthday last year. I've made several simple quilts on my own, but since I've never sewn from a quilt pattern before I decided to sew a simpler quilt first and tackle this one next. The anticipation builds!

Will you be doing a tutorial on the pillow? I ordered the kit. I am a new quilter and sadly i was not brave enough to attempt this quilt so i settled on the pillow. 😂

Is it weird that the fabric looks like the finished product then you cut it apart and sew it back together again?

I have two questions about pre-starching/sizing the fabric for this quilt. 1) I understand that I should pre-starch/size the fabrics from which the diamonds will be cut and I'll be following the technique used by Gerri Robinson. Should I also pre-starch/size the boarder panels so that everything has even shrinkage? What about the backing material? 2) A friend will be hand quilting this piece for me. Are you aware of any issues with using pre-starch/sizing and hand quilting, e.g., difficulty in moving a quilting needle through the fabric?

Thanks for the great video! Have a question--do you suggest using a light-weight batting or finishing as a 'coverlet?'

When will this kit be coming to stores? Thank you.

Can this be hand pieced instead of machine? Also, does the pattern specify what type of starch to use?

I got the kit but no borders, is it still available to ship it to me?

Where can we get the templates? The website doesn't let customers buy, you have to be a wholesaler. 😞

Does anyone know if you can paper piece the quilt using the quilt kit?
