In this Casio A1100 review video, I analyze the latest steel Casio digital watch to see if this is the luxury Casio worth buying (or if it's overpriced). I take a look at the silver, gold, and black versions, with the codenames A1100D, A1100G, and A1100B, respectively; there are some notable differences between the three, including the light or backlight. These watches were all purchased by Ben's Watch Club.

Honestly not a fan of these for 150 bucks. Casio seem to have this attitude that stainless steel is some sort of high luxury material, when it's been the industry standard for years at this point. If Armitron can afford to do a fully stainless steel digital for under 50 bucks, why are Casio seemingly incapable of doing so? I like a lot of Casio watches, but their price points are insane on any of their non-resin models IMO.

Given Casio, I'm somewhat surprised there isn't another version of this watch in grade 2 or 5 titanium, with sapphire, and a $2, 000 price tag, because reasons.

It was between this and the SKXMOD for my A168 for me. And I went with the SKXMOD. But I may still get this because it looks brilliant on a brown leather strap. Thanks for the great review!

Ive got months of one these on wrist, and the bracelet is honestly perfect for this watch— if the links were solid it would (likely) be thicker and less chiseled than a comparable solid link bracelet at this price point

I bought a silver one for full retail price, and IMO it's actually worth it. Maybe just barely, but still. My only problem with it is the lack of 24-hour mode. Not a dealbreaker, but I prefer it to AM/PM.

Love the design, but 30m wr and no 24-hour mode are deal breakers.

I think two elephants in the room weren't addressed here: the press-on caseback and the complete lack of 24-hour mode.

I love it, just wish they'd fix some of the issues with a V2. But that'll probably take 10 years

One good point about this watch worth mentioning is that it has standard 20mm lug width, so you can easily swap straps.

Interesting take: I nearly bought one late last year, but decided to go for Casio's EFA120D-1AV instead: yes, its a "hybrid" ana-digi, but 1) the digital display uses Casio's EL backlighting for a crisp, even display; 2) that display is subdued just enough not to distract from the analog hands, making the watch super-legible for what most people will be using it for 90% of the time; and 3) like the A1100D, the case and bracelet are stainless steel, the watch sports a mineral crystal, *and* a WR rating of 100m. The kicker is the price: I paid a bit under US$50 via Amazon - at the moment, it's somewhere just south of US$60, still under half the price of the A1100. Maybe its time this watch got a review from you?
