Practical Driving Test Changes - New Driving Test 2017

This is a video showing you all of the changes to the practical driving test. The new driving test will begin from the 4th of December 2017.

In this video, we show you what happens in the current driving test and what will be different in the new driving test. The major changes are:

The independent driving will be longer and you will also be asked to follow directions from a sat nav.
Two of the current manoeuvres will be replaced by two new ones.
The show me question will be asked on the move instead of when stationary.

The main reasons behind these changes is to improve road safety. Your driving lessons should be well structured by your driving instructor to ensure you feel confident before going for a practical driving test.

passed my driving test nearly 3 years ago, (9/10) but maybe its my luck but i always find the learners doing 20 in a 30 signaling 400yds in advance and taking manovers much slower than anyone else. we're lead to believe cars now are soooo complicated you need 110% concentration to drive them you cant have any distractions like passengers or radio or anything that involves your lleft hand.

Don't understand why they have got rid of Turn in the road cause since I have passed I have done that many times it just as useful as learning the bay park, the new ones seem ridiculous.

any changes on the theory test..I heard once u pass ur theory test u hve to pass ur driving test within 6 months...is it true????
