I've had a couple of strange comments from home inspectors or people who pretend to be home inspectors. Watch the video carefully and if you have a problem with any of the information in it, please be more specific about them, this vague communication is ridiculous. The home inspection checklist is a good idea and works well if you're using it correctly.

If you've seen what I've seen or fixed what I fixed after a home inspector gave it their stamp of approval, you might think a little differently. Informed homeowners make better decisions and anyone who relies on someone else to make important decisions for them could be in trouble and in some cases could be in very big trouble.

@inspectjacksonville I have a few different books that will walk you through the entire process. I know home inspectors like yourself don't want to hear the truth, but there are plenty of people working in the home inspection business, who really don't have the homeowner's best interests at heart.

@supergemil You can if you've been taken advantage of by a professional, licensed home inspector. Would you just take anyone's advice, before purchasing anything, like a home or would you do your own research?

If you don't know anything about houses and you don't want to learn anything about houses, you will need to hire a home inspector, this isn't rocket science. However, if you're interested in learning more about your home, a home inspection checklist and one of our simplified home inspection books, could provide you with a heads up, especially if you're going to be dealing with a home inspection company that sucks.

@supergemil How would I know which home inspector to ask? Like the doctor, how many so called pros do I need to go through before I buy the house inspection checklist. Make sure you get the checklist, otherwise... well you know.

Just another way to zap 20.00 from a homeowner. Why dont you give them the checklist for free if your so concerned about the homeowner? You did slam home inspectors very well though. You lack professional courtesy and group ALL home inspectors in a negative light. I agree with the home owner being intelligent as to the process and even the expectations of a home inspection but you really should give them your inspection checklist for free.

Greg, I dont contest that a few out of a hundred arent worth their salt, but the way you speak you trash the entire industry while pufing yourself up and trying to make 20 bucks on it to boot. Poor markketing on your part is my point. Never trash someone else, especially as a group, when you might have only a handful of people that dont do a decent job when their hired. If you really cared you would report the bad ones to BBB. Just sayin
