Great video. I appreciate the honesty about not knowing the name of the material. We as inspectors know a vast amount about the systems and components of a home, but we don't always know everything we are human.

That is crazy!
As an assistant superintendent building single and multi family homes I always made sure the contractors carried out all work according to plans and even though the city Inspectors missed calling out items, if I caught it, I owned it and always made sure all issues were corrected.
Here the builder does not care to hold the contractors accountable and the city has governmental qualified immunity so they could careless about life safety.

The foam filler is called backer rod here. They should hit the expansion joints with Sikaflex so water doesn't get under the concrete and freeze causing the concrete to move and crack. That ain't right!

When doing concrete we put in expansion joints next to the garage and driveway its never supposed to be wood

Expansion joint is the black stuff between slabs or anywhere it's needed.wood around concrete usually means the forms were left on I believe.

It is code in NC that the gas pipe must be through a sleeve going through masonry and than soft packed (flexible caulk) to keep out bugs and so that vibration (or small earthquake) does not damage the gas pipe.
