Otaku Katsu is serving Japanese-style sandwiches, and New Yorkers are lining up to try them. With a 350-square-foot restaurant, the chef and owners are keeping the menu small to focus on quality comfort classics they know and love, like the egg-salad sando and katsu sando. The BEC Katsu, a twist on the classic, is also very popular.

Anyone else triggered by the empty space on the bread when they spread the egg filling?

I love how Christine is an expert in Japanese Cuisine and pronounces all her Japanese words wrong. C’mon

As someone who have been to Japan many times. This restaurant is shaming Japan in many ways 😂😂 considering the "price", can't they make a better representation of the food? All of this food can be easily bought in Japanese convenience store for cheap! 😱 The least they can do is to make it look just a tad bit fancier. Or make it cheaper!

She mentioned her mother so many times I forgot who she was reviewing 🤫....I’d be a lil salty if it were my restaurant especially when she says “My moms egg sandwich is better”

What’s up with the crust? Who’s eating those? They better have a container to save those for later.

Having never had either of these sandos, I do think the Japanese Milk Bread must make a big difference...yum! (This got me thinking about Anthony Bourdain and his LOVE of egg salad sandos.)

I ate more egg salad sandos in Kobe City when I lived there for four years than the entire 25+ years of my life beforehand lol. Milk bread is just amazing and really makes the experience delicious. Even 7-11 egg sandos are better than anything you could get here in the states they’re that good. Porku katsu sandos are my favorite though especially after a long night out and it’s 4am and you’re delirious at an izikaya close to home lol. Good memories

Japan has some of the strictest quality standards for eggs in the world. Their eggs and the tasty richness of Kewpie mayo would make for an amazing sandwich.
