Temperatures have crossed 50C (120F) in parts of northern and central India as the country grapples with extreme heatwave conditions.

Indian summers, which extend from March to September, are usually hot and humid.

But the weather department in India has said the country is likely to experience longer and more intense heatwaves this year.

I remember how scorching hot it is at 37C in my city. The wind is hot. The air is sizzling. It's like being baked.
I have no idea about 52C

And in East India it's so humid that Feels like temperature is touching 62°C or 144.6°F. This is happening due to combination of Heat with humidity coming from Bay of Bengal.

I worry about the stray animals of India like the stray dogs, I hope they have enough shade and water sources to survive this. Heartbreaking!

The fact that more people are denying climate change is very concerning for the world.

In Delhi with humidity below 20-25%, I am able to manage this heatwave using just an air cooler but my family members living in Bihar where temperature is reading 37-38°C but humidity touching 75%, it is them who are suffering more.

Indian here. Night time sleep. Top floor of 2 floor building. No AC but just fans.

Literally feels like I'm slowly getting cooked in a low flame overnight.

When you get ready for work and leave the home, the sun's heat, engine heat and the traffic signal, it's simply like living in a civilized mad max world.

India basically :
When crisis is about to hit : denial. act like its all bogus news
When crisis hits : mishandle it
When crisis is over: praise your visionary leadership and declare yourself a world leader 🎉

26 C here in North East Indian state of Mizoram. I once experienced a 35C in Kolkatta which was unbearable, 52C is beyond my comprehension.
