“When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, and the last river poisoned, only then will we realize that one cannot eat money” is a powerful proverb

10 years ago, I watched an Australian movie called "THESE FINAL HOURS" about 80% population dying due to unbearable temperature starting from hottest continent to heat reaching least hot one. I knew somewhat that this day would come but didn't realise This soon. Watch it... It's an ultimate portrayal of extinction of Humans.

50C is 122F. OMG! If that is a consistent temperature then I really feel for y'all. 100-105F is unbearable enough. Without AC you're "cooked".

Meghalaya is blessed. It’s cloudy and raining. We just survived the effects of Remal cyclone. Our temperature is cool and bearable. I’m sleeping with a blanket on today 😊. Plant more trees and plant more indoor plants too.

The main threat in tropical regions is urbanisation, not carbon dioxide. Concrete and brick give no shade, prevent evaporation and store heat. Every building burns electricity, every car has a hot engine. Spread out, plant trees, reduce traffic, replace concrete.

India must rethink its forest policy of 33% forest target .

We cant tackle global warming nd heatwaves unless we aim for 50% india being natural forest with legal protection against poaching and felling trees .

Cities need to change fast. How?
Parks. Green areas. Not one or two, but whole neighborhoods with their own Food Forests. Communal collective farming in the cities. I have a flat with a two meter by four meter patio. It's covered with potted plants including avocado and mango tree saplings maybe two meters tall. The whole patio has over twenty pots with dirt and plants. It's cool. One single chair and one tiny table.

You can do this too. Patios can have potted plants. Rooftops can have potted plants and wood planters for shade.

You can turn off your lights and turn off your AC or turn it up to the maximum you can tolerate, maybe 27 C inside your flat. No room fans unless they circulate the hot air back to the AC thermostat. Turn off your TV and limit your cell phone use. Turn off your lights and fans. Just stop making heat. Just stop eating so much, cut your food intake, NO meat, no cooking, just fruit and maybe some rice at night or early morning. Drink water and NO alcohol or tobacco.

Just make yourself as physically strong and cool as possible. Turn off your power systems as much as possible. Definitely walk to work. Take an umbrella for the sun and two bottles of cool water.

In Myanmar, it is above 50C everyday. With humidity above 50-70% too, we are dying.

I am in the Philippines. Two people I knew died last month from heatstroke. Always hydrate and avoid working in the sun. We may have to adopt the habits of the Gulf States and sleep all day so we can work at night.

Smart buildings are required in India. I don't know why are there no innovations regarding this field in India. Concrete buildings gets heated up in tge day and doesn't cool down even in the night. In villages some Mud houses have very thick walls about 1 to 1.5 meters thick made of only mud no bricks and when you enter such houses, they are freezers believe me.

In Mintabie we had a saying. ' the tourists start dying at 45, the locals start dying at 55. ' I've been in 56, obviously I lived . . . . .

The most funny thing is that those who are writing about saving the earth in the comments themselves won't plant trees
