India heatwave: Temperatures soar to 52.9 degrees in Delhi

Temperatures in parts of India's capital New Delhi have reached the highest ever seen in the country.
The heatwave is straining power grids and causing water shortages. in various parts of India.

52.9 degrees C = 127.22 degrees F, seemingly. As an aside, as others have noted is sort of misleading title perhaps, and was outlier for day's temp readings around city perhaps with most temp sensors in the city measuring a temperature of 45 to 50 degrees.

Here's a shocking trend.

In my family, I have two college sons. One, the younger, at 21 just got his driver's license about a year ago, and just last month bought his first car used Toyota Camry ICE. The older one, 22 still does NOT have his driver's license and does NOT want to own a car or drive at all. He would prefer to use his bicycle or use some form of mass transit.

But that's far different than my own generation, we all learned to drive around 16-17 age and maybe got our own cars sometime in the next 3-4 years, I being the slowest having a small scooter until later.

But that's another sociological advancement. Young adults are choosing to use alternative forms of transport. Like bicycles, or buses or trains. I do believe we need fewer cars especially the old ICE type. They need to be phased out completely, but junked, not sold off to be transported to poorer countries has used cars for poor people to buy. In that case, they will still be driven and that negates the selling of it.

Now in my area, there is a new regional train service and it will be adding a station in my town, very nearby. So I can use that to go to the airport if I travel rather than drive and leave the car at the parking lot. It can sit here and not move at all.

Ac, aircoñditioners are the main reason for high temperatures. AC release hot air in the atmospher which is the main reason AC should release cool air. One should improve AC mechanism. That's all.
