The saddest part was that since he's a baby it probably won't remember Bojack bringing him back home. Even worse, he might read the book about him years later and not have any happy memories of him years later. God that's so heartbreaking.

This was a really good episode in a lot of ways-the silence allowing the animation to speak for itself, the foreshadowing, the glimmer of bojacks capacity for good and decency. can i just say though I was really confused about a man going into labor until I remembered that in seahorses it's the males who give birth. Then I lolled.

I love the dude is so nonchalant about losing his baby and I also love that Bojack was able to find a specific seahorse dad in a city full of seahorses.

This kind of thing happens so often, he had a red marker on standby just in case it turned out he needed to adjust the banner.

i really loved this episode.. bojack usually relies on his words so much to manipulate, persuade, and convey his emotions to people and rarely ever doing actions that may let people perceive as “likeable”. he’s only ever done shitty things to people and this was a huge change of pace that i think the writers absolutely nailed. they really showed that deep down under that damaged and destructive surface he can be a good guy without selfish intent.

What's interesting about this scene is Bojack finally does something completely selfless and receives no reward ... and he still feels no enjoyment from it.

Throughout the series he tries doing nice things but usually halfassed or because he will get something out of it, but not this time, yet he doesn't look happy about it at all. I think this is when he realized maybe he isnt a nice person like he wanted to pretend he always could be. (Not saying Bojack doesn't have the ability to be a nice person, just pointing out he was obsessed with trying to be nice without the scum of Hollywoo)

The connections we make with babies are strong bonds, but unless they grow in front of us that bond can never be reciprocated. Interesting that they chose a Sea-horse for Bojack's temporary foster child and how it relates the big reveal in the season finale.
